Overview

All families want a better life for their children.  Having a college degree, or some type of further education or training, is fundamental to “getting ahead” in today’s world.  Though numerous students qualify for financial aid, many families are still hard pressed to keep up with the ever-increasing financial burden of sending their children to college.  ESBI assists families in alleviating some of this financial burden.

Our volunteer board of directors meets regularly to coordinate fundraising and planning efforts, all of which are designed to benefit our local area students.  All proceeds generated from these fundraising efforts are distributed to students annually in the form of scholarships or interest free loans.  In the spring, the student review committee evaluates applications and matches available scholarship and loan funds with deserving students.  Recipients are selected based on a number of factors including academic achievement, school involvement and community service, but always with an emphasis on financial need.  Special circumstances are also weighed on an individual basis.

In 2006, 89 students from Conifer, Evergreen, Clear Creek and Platte Canyon High Schools applied for assistance.  Thanks to our fundraising efforts and generous community support, we were able to award more than $175,000 to 63 graduating seniors and continuing college students.  More than half of our applicants planned to attend public colleges and universities in Colorado.  However, ESBI awards can be used at any school in the country.

Your help is needed for us to continue this worthwhile mission.  There are a number of ways to participate.  Cash donations in any amount are always welcome.  It is also possible for you to participate in our “Create a Scholarship” or “Create a Loan” programs.  In addition, be sure to watch for the sale of raffle tickets to try your chance at winning a new Mini Cooper or a fabulous vacation with GrandLuxe Rail Journeys.

ESBI donors, recipients and volunteers are your friends and neighbors.  If you are already a donor, we thank you wholeheartedly for your support.  If this is the first time you are considering a gift, we promise to represent you well and to make sure every dollar you contribute makes a difference in the education of deserving young people in our community.

Thank you in advance for helping some extraordinary students in your community pull themselves up by the “bootstraps”.  ESBI is a 501(c) 3 organization, therefore your donation may be tax deductible.
